National Peaches & Cream Day

Love peaches, try not to eat too much cream though I must say that a scone with clotted cream is about the best dessert a girl can have.

In my family we're partial to a peach dumplin dish my grandmother use to make for me.   poach sliced peaches in some sugar water (and the amount of sugar depends on who is making it, hers was S W E E T) for about half an hour.   Then add dumplins made with bisquik, milk and more sugar (these need to be sweet).   Put the lid on and cook for about 20 0 30 minutes, then take the lid off for a few minutes and let some of the liquid cook off.     Y U M M Y

some of us like the entire dish, my DD prefers it with apples, and one DS wants just the dumplins.
